The
route was pretty straightforward. She headed for Carcassonne, turning off after
about thirty minutes to go cross-country,
via Mirepoix and Limoux. At Couiza, she took a left towards Arques, then after
ten minutes of winding road, turned down to the right. By six, feeling a mixture
of anticipation and excitement, she was driving into the town
she'd thought about for so long.
